Kütahya Ceramics

In Kütahya 12 companies make various ceramic production (ceramic coating material, sanitary wares, stoneware, porcelain tableware etc). In these companies located in Kütahya around 4.300 people are employed. With this figure Kütahya keeps 2% of ceramic sector labour of Turkey. Worldwide well-known big ceramic producers are operating in Kütahya.

In Kütahya where this sector is so widespread there is an university had ceramic engineering (Dumlupınar University) and ceramic vocational programs. Over 400 students are educated on engineering field. The sector is likely to evolve into technical and advanced ceramics and there is a huge prospect for new investments in this vein.

Kütahya, one of the provinces of the Region, is included in Eskişehir-Bilecik-Kütahya Ceramic Business Cluster, and there is a general Ceramic Research Center in Eskişehir where is 75 km (45 Min.) away from Kütahya.Also, in Kütahya, one glass producer with a furnace capacity of 100 tons (440 million pieces tableware production and 1200 employees) and one refractory material producer with the capacity of 330 tons per annum (525 employees). This largest producer and supplier of refractory products for steel, cement, glass, lime, nonferrous and some other industries in Eastern Europe and Turkey is located in Kütahya.
